Nairobi - Feb 6

Today felt like an ordinary day.    We went to church in the morning with the Kenny's.   Mark was a tad disappointed that it was not an African church, the kids were relieved that it was an ordinary church - meaning it was done in an hour.     We went out for lunch to an Indian Restaurant with the Kenny's.   They had a variety of North American food menu options and the kids were thankful.    I think I had the best butter chicken I have ever eaten.

After lunch we took Tristan & Emma with us to the swimming pool near by.   It was nice to cool off in the pool and lounge on the side.   We are happy to report our sunscreen is working.  We will likely have to purchase more.

Heart Lodge (the place we are staying) does not have many people using the guest house right now.   There is a lovely young American lady staying here.   It has been nice to visit with her at meal time.   She played some games with us tonight.  I think Mark was happy because we had enough players without him.

Tomorrow is our first day in the ghetto.    We thought Eastleigh was considered a slum but it isn't.   There is some infrastructure therefore it has a status one better than a slum.   I am not sure if we will be able to take many pictures.    We will be going into a few classrooms of women learning English in the morning and I think we do our first home visit - water filter delivery in the afternoon.

PS   Nick if you are reading this, Micah opened your book today & really enjoyed your notes in the book.   It took us awhile to figure out the secret clue.   It was a nice surprise from home.

Hanging out at the pool with some new friends

The restaurant had a supervised playground.   The boys could not resist.

Sweet little Ava
